Amy Stewart, Ph.D. Consultant and Executive Coach

Dr. Amy Stewart is a skilled Industrial/Organizational Psychologist experienced in working with Fortune 500, government, and nonprofit organizations to increase their human capital return on investment. With extensive knowledge of leadership fundamentals of success, Dr. Stewart is adept in supporting managers and executives to develop and apply capabilities to their unique circumstances. While Dr. Stewart has assisted many professionals in improving their interpersonal skills, influence, and strategic capabilities, she has a personal understanding of the issues women leaders face today, particularly at the executive level. Her compassion, knowledge, and experience help women feel heard, gain perspective, and initiate behavioral changes that will help them thrive.

EXPERIENCE

  • Specializes in personality and cognitive assessment for selection and development purposes.
  • Works across industries with substantial experience in the hospitality, retail, academia, automotive, electrical utilities, private equity, financial, and medical fields.
  • Assists leaders as they prepare for and transition into new roles by identifying the critical success elements for the targeted position. She works collaboratively to discover existing competencies to leverage, new skills to develop, and overused skills to modify for optimal performance.
  • Ensures that coaching goals align with the organization’s strategic plans and objectives.
  • Confronts complex issues with leaders by creating a safe environment where tough messages can be received and explored in a supportive, productive manner.

IMPACT

  • Assessed 500+ candidates for executive leader positions to determine leadership fit for open roles. Assessments included interview, interpretation of cognitive and personality data, and written report of capabilities. Included candidate feedback, recommendations, development plans, and coaching.
  • Built career development content for aerospace and defense company to guide and support employees as they determined a career path and created a plan for self-growth as well as continued skill development. Worked with change management team to construct communication materials to drive adoption.
  • Lead a team of five internal OD business partners to identify barriers to performance, design interventions, and lead efforts that facilitate development and change.
