High Performance Leadership

The best strategy in the world doesn’t create a competitive advantage for an organization unless it is translated and implemented effectively. Identifying the need to innovate in products or services, drive out costs, or capture new markets is often relatively easy. Figuring out how to implement the strategy and then actually making it happen is never easy. Middle managers are the key. Middle managers are experts at strategic implementation and execution; they translate strategy into the right actions that get the right results. Organizations that identify and use their middle managers most effectively can create a sustainable competitive advantage, yet few organizations seem to really understand how to use the competitive tool they have in their middle management ranks.

Building leaders is an investment in sustainability. MDA’s High Performance Leadership program is an action learning program that helps people at all levels, especially middle managers, understand their role as leaders and translators. The six session program focuses on strategic thinking and leading change, results orientation, influence and communication, managing performance, coaching and developing others, and leveraging difference. Between team sessions, participants receive individual support through leadership coaching. As with all of MDA's action learning programs, participants focus on applying the concepts and tools to immediate, real-world issues.

MDA's High Performance Leadership program has been used by small companies with 15 middle managers as well as large-scale organizations with more than 500 middle managers, with co-facilitation often done by the client organization.
